Prix Arthur 2026
Bosc Design — Open Call 2026
What would you do with Arthur?
Arthur Double is a lamp conceived as a support for creation. The light at the centre, a groove on each side, and everything that goes in them still to invent.
What you are looking at
This is a lamp.
Well… not quite.
A luminous base, and nothing more. The source runs flush along the central wall: at the centre, you touch nothing. On either side, a 25 mm groove and a thumbscrew. What you fix into those two grooves — plates, or anything else — is the shade. And the shade decides everything: the colour of the light, its density, what it lets through and what it holds back.
“You are not redesigning Arthur.
You are imagining what Arthur will reveal.”
The brief
Arthur lights
whatever you imagine.
Ceramic, glass, textile, paper, metal, stone, wood, plant matter, salvaged material, photography, sculpture, a repurposed object, a 3D-printed piece… or something we have absolutely not thought of. That is exactly what interests us.

Your move.

The only rule
2 mm → 25 mm
This is the admissible thickness of your creations: each groove measures 25 mm. Below 2 mm, the screw holds nothing. Above 25 mm, the creation does not fit. Between the two: anything can happen. Height and width are not constrained — they are part of the proposal.
Proof by example
Already made,
in the workshop.
Nine pieces mounted on Arthur, all real, all photographed as they are. None was designed for this competition — they were born from trying.

Surprise us.
Declare your intention here. We reply within five working days to confirm your entry. For the selection, an idea is enough: a few lines and, if you have them, sketches, renders or photographs. No need for a finished piece: the ten selected entrants will then have time to make it.
We will come back to you to confirm your entry. If you have sketches, renders or photos, send them to us by email, as set out below.
Send your sketches, renders or photos to contact@bosc-design.com, subject “PRIX ARTHUR 2026 — your name”, by 30 November. PDF or JPEG, 10 MB maximum per message; beyond that, a download link.

Not a stand.
A lab.
For the second year, Bosc Design is invited by Maison&Objet to the Design District. For five days we experiment, repurpose and assemble — materials, objects, tinkering — to see how far Arthur can go. And every evening, at apéritif hour, a performance by Jean Bosc.
The starting point
Arthur Double.
A base of 12 × 10 × 4 cm, two lateral grooves of 25 mm, a flush central wall that carries the light, thumbscrews tightened by hand. A lamp built to be filled, changed, filled again.
You do not need to own one to enter: the kit is enough to design accurately, and entering requires no purchase. But if you want to try for real — mounting, unmounting, watching the light cross a material — it is for sale.
